In 1986, news anchor Dan Rather was attacked by a man demanding, “Kenneth, what’s the frequency?”—a paranoid attempt to locate the signals he believed were being beamed into his mind. Decades later, our phones have become those very transmitters: devices that deliver curated frequencies of news, images, and notifications that blur truth, intensify dread, and shape our inner lives. Within this atmosphere of constant signal and static—where artists themselves are both transmitters and receivers—how can art position itself: as resistance, as reflection, or as a counter-frequency that interrupts the noise? - H.
